Top 5 Best Pizza Places in Northeast Philly

Before you read this, I can assure you that you can take it for gold. I have the highest class of palate for Pizza tasting. Most of you Philadelphia sweat-hogs will eat any type of store front Mayfair pizza or even stoop to 7/11 pizza level. After a late night binge, I'm sure you would eat poop flavor pizza. Here in the Northeast, I can assure you that there is better out there! Here is a list of the top 5 pizza places in NE Philly - Enjoy and You're welcome.

5.  Angela's Pizza -  9900 Roosevelt Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19115

8.0 / 10

This place just squeaked into the top 5. Its pretty standard and is the lists really only wildcard spot. Has a classic old school feel where one of the staff members kids will always be driving a toy car by your foot or throwing a ball as you take a bite. Place has been around for quite a while. Its always fresh and crispy.

4.  Joe Santucci's Original Square Pizza Bar And Grill - 4050 Woodhaven Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19154

8.2 / 10

This will be the one that I catch the most shit for. Everyone knows it. It seems to be the most commercial place of the group. You pretty much need to take out a second mortgage if you want to take your family there to eat but this is the only good Sicilian pie in Philly. One has to be on there. I'm a thin crust guy but this pie is simply too good to be left out. They stay open until 2 so its really the only late night pizza on the list. That adds to the ranking. Its really good.

3.  Tony's Famous Tomato Pie - 6300 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19135

8.3 / 10

Place is super old school inside. You literally see in black and white when you eat there but it adds to the respect level. Heavy Heavy Sauce on top with thin crust. High on my recommendation list. My only gripe is that its in a bit of a hood-rat neighborhood and you may have to park far away and walk through that shit to get there. This pizza is next level. Can stand against any NYC pie.

2. Merc Brothers Pizzeria - 8108 Roosevelt Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19152

8.8 / 10

Thin Crust. Old school Vibe inside. Looks like a grade school bathroom tile design on the walls, but in their oven magic happens. It's also the cheapest cost wise of all the places on the list. If you remember the commercial where two old ladies are fighting over "cheese pie"  "no tomato pie"  that's them! I imagine the walls are the same as back then .You can eat inside with limited tables. More of a takeout place. Their staff is also probably the nicest on the list. Simply a great place for pizza.

1.  Vince's Pizzeria - 2550 Grant Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19114

8.9 / 10

This is the Reese's Easter egg, Andy Capps Hot Fry, Sopranos, Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Jennifer Aniston of all Pizza's. They are super independent. They don't open until 4, They have one phone from 1974 that they let ring 17 times before they answer it. They only take cash. They pretty much literally let you know that they don't need your business at all and yet that makes you want it 10x more.  It's kind of got the Sam's boardwalk vibe inside with the awesome ice too. You always have to plug Sam's ice in any pizza blog. It's thin crust, Its got the sweetest sauce you have ever tasted. This pizza in not only the best in NE Philly, It's the best I've ever had. There is no debate!

In closing, you can either listen to me or go back to eating $5 little caesars.... You cheap bastards!
